FREESTYLE MX INTERNACIONAL DE GRANADA

Granada International freestyle MX

R.P.M. Racing is organising the II Granada International Freestyle MX, next Friday, february 9th 2007,  at the Palacio de Deportes of Granada. It is an event playing with gravity and performed by riders extremely well prepared for this challenge.

This will be the second year this show is held in the Sports Centre of this Andalusian city. After having organised 16 Barcelona International Supercross & Xtreme Jump which have taken place in recent years at the Palau Sant Jordi, R.P.M. is offering Granada a unique show fully dedicated to this sport derived from the supercross where the winner is decided by the audience. RPM Racing and SOLO MOTO decided to dedicate a special afternoon to the enjoyment of this sporting speciality.

Josep Miralles will be the main representative of the Spanish Riders and will compete for Movistar, the new main sponsor of this race. Other high level Spanish and foreign riders will do their best to stop him from winning a victory he already won during the jumping competition at the16th Barcelona Supercross in 2005.

The Palacio de los Deportes (Sports Centre) of Granada will be transformed one again into a dirt track circuit of pure jumps, with take-off and landing ramps where riders will have to demonstrate their skills in the air all kinds of very well rehearsed tricks. Among the pirouettes we will be able to admire the impressive "Backflip", the "Nothing" meaning to get off the motorcycle while in the air, or the "Cordobés" consisting in arching the body backwards while holding on to the handlebars with hands and feet; there are some 24 different pirouettes without counting the variations invented by the riders themselves.

The track and the planning of jumps will be entrusted to one of the most expert dirt track builders on a national level: Carlos Mas.

One of the characteristics of this sporting event is that the audience is directly related to the final result; it is the audience who counts most with regard to awarding points to the feats carried out by these air artists. There will also be a jury formed by Freestyle MX professionals who, in conjunction with the audience, will decide on the winner of this 2nd Granada International Movistar Freestyle MX .
